Overview

All artists must also be excellent business people, fully acquainted with every aspect of the profession that has the potential to impact success.

ABIA offers an extensive range of courses and curricula addressing both artistic and entrepreneurial aspects of career management, in addition to private lessons, master classes, and curricula for career strategy that include both Pre-College and College Admissions and a Teacher Certification Program done in collaboration with our work as a Strategic Partner of Music Teachers National Association.

ABIA not only offers an extensive range of courses addressing artistic and entrepreneurial aspects for career management, but also private lessons, master classes, and curricula for Pre-College and College Admissions, as well as a Teacher Certification Program provided in collaboration with our work as a Strategic Partner of Music Teachers National Association.

Curricula

Essay Guides

ABIA is pleased to have an ever-growing repository of essays written by Cosmo Buono designed to help pianists of all ages hone and refine their performances of the great works.

Video Guides

A complement to the piano studies are video lessons featuring Metropolitan Opera Conductor Emeritus William Hicks in conversation with Barry Alexander as part of a series called The Great Arias: Guides to Interpretation

Private Lessons

Private lessons are available for students seeking to enhance their skills and performance.  Our lessons are truly collaborations between teacher and student and work to minimize the amount of time between goals being set and achieved. Where necessary lessons are a balance of theory, sight-reading, and ear training, as well as repertoire that meets the student’s level of accomplishment.

Master Classes

The art of performance is greatly enhanced when musicians are able to get direct feedback from both teachers and an audience as part of a master class. ABIA holds online events several times each year that are designed to put musicians not only before a live audience but also a group of three teachers of the same instrument who actively engage the artists in performance and discussions designed to create a full understanding of the requirements of a work, and concepts leading to meaningful and refined presentations.
