A complement to the piano studies are video lessons featuring Metropolitan Opera Conductor Emeritus William Hicks in conversation with Barry Alexander as part of a series called The Great Arias: Guides to Interpretation

By approaching arias for all voices and understanding their history and context within their respective operas, singers have the opportunity to investigate more fully the options for performance written into each work, while gaining insights into more of the composers’ intentions through careful examination of the scores. 

The Academy continues to grow its content as part of this curriculum in an effort to help artists enhance both their understanding and appreciation of the works.Top
